Meet Randy

Born and raised in Barrie, Randy Hazlett has called Northern Ontario home since 2016, settling in the French River area. Passionate about his community, he quickly got involved, winning a seat as Councillor for French River Ward 3 in 2018. Since then, he has led and supported key initiatives, including serving as Vice Chair of the French River Library Board, Chair of the Environmental Committee, and member of the Recreation and Economic Development Committees.

Randy has championed local projects like building an outdoor rink in Alban with community support and donations, minimizing costs to taxpayers. In 2019, after facing mobility challenges from a past accident, he led the formation of the Sudbury East Accessibility Committee, advocating for improved accessibility across the region. He also serves on the Sudbury and District Board of Health and the AMO Northeast Caucus. A dedicated member of the French River Lions Club, Randy is committed to strengthening the Nickel Belt and protecting Northern communities.
